ABOUT MIDWEST CHARITY RACING
Midwest Charity Racing was founded by race promoters Dan Herzberg and Bill Braun, both of Kalamazoo, Michigan, in the winter of 2010. The goal of Midwest Charity Racing is to promote the best possinle races while donating to worthy causes. Dan and Bill work strictly on a volunteer basis with all net proceeds* from the races donated to their respective charity.
There are currently two races promoted by Midwest Charity Racing. The Third Annual Terry Reisch Memorial, which benefits Hospice, is Sunday July 10th, 2011 in Hillsdale, Michigan. For the second year in a row, the race is part of the Michigan Challenge Series. The First Annual Priority Health Race For Wishes is set for Sunday July 17, 2011 in Lawton, Michigan (just outside of Kalamazoo), and will benefit Make-A-Wish of Michigan.

To be clear, we at Midwest Charity Racing pay for the race officials, timing services, awards, USAC insurance and permits, race numbers, T-shirts and champions jerseys and in some cases medical support (ambulance, police, etc) to promote a safe race. There are also miscellaneous expenses like website and advertising. After these expenses, all funds go to each races' respective charities. Dan and Bill work strictly on a volunteer basis. Neither Dan, Bill, nor any of the volunteers recieve any money or goods from Midwest Charity Racing events. We are only doing this to support great causes!
USA CYCLING
USA Cycling is the official governing body of all road, mountain, track and bmx bike races throughout the United States. USA Cycling is the sanctioning body for over 2,600 events nation wide, including the Terry Reisch Memorial Race and the Priority Health Race For Wishes.
USA Cycling was organized in 1920 as the Amateur Bicycle League of America and incorporated in New York in 1921. In 1975, the name changed to the United States Cycling Federation. In 1995, USA Cycling incorporated in Colorado. On July 1, 1995, the two corporations merged with USA Cycling as the umbrella corporation. For more information, go to usacycling.org
MICHIGAN BICYCLE RACING ASSOCIATION
The MBRA is the governing body of USA Cycling races held in the state of Michigan. The MBRA has developed the Michigan Challenge Points Series, which is a select series of races across the state of Michigan. For these races, points are awarded to individual finishers. Points are accumulated, and at the end of the year the top rider in each category is award the series championship. For more information on the MBRA and the MI Challenge, go to mbra.org
