Welcome to Priority Health Race For Wishes

The Priority Health Race For Wishes is a new race on the USA Cycling and Michigan Bicycle Racing Association calendars. The race is scheduled for July 17th, 2011 in Lawton, Michigan, which is just outside of Kalamazoo. All race procedes are donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan.

To be clear, we at Midwest Charity Racing pay for the race officials, timing services, awards, USAC insurance and permits, race numbers, T-shirts and champions jerseys and in some cases medical support (ambulance, police, etc) to promote a safe race. There are also miscellaneous expenses like website and advertising. After these expenses, all funds go to each races' respective charities. Dan and Bill work strictly on a volunteer basis. Neither Dan, Bill, nor any of the volunteers recieve any money or goods from Midwest Charity Racing events. We are only doing this to support great causes!

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Since 1984, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan has granted wishes to more than 6,400 special children in Michigan. Of each dollar spent, more than 80 cents goes directly to granting wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. Funding comes from individual contributors, special events, coporate donations and sponsorships, foundation grants, workplace giving programs and planned gifts. For more information, click here.

WAM

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan has a long history of cycling related fundraising. For 23 years now, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan has hosted the Wish-A-Mile 300 Mile Bicycle Tour each July. This event has grown from four riders in its inaugural year to about 800 in recent years. For each of the past several years, fundraising from this event has provided sufficient resources to grant 250 wishes. For more information, click here.
